COVID-19 restrictions put regional senior sport on hold – again

The resumption of sport full-contact training and competition for people aged 19 and over in regional Victoria has been halted.

Full-contact training was scheduled to resume on Monday, with full-contact BDSA competition set to return on 26 July.

However, with a significant increase in coronavirus cases in Melbourne, and active cases in a number of regional communities, the Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton has determined that community sport in regional Victoria must remain non-contact.

Full training and competition for players aged 18-and-under can continue.
